The next night, one of my friends brought me to a very impressive building; the Campo Pequeno bullring in Campo Pequeno Square. (photo by Felix König) After its renovation, it re-opened as a multi-event venue in 2006, designed to be used for various events apart from bull fighting. It hosts a range of live acts and has seen many famous bands perform there.
First, we went into the underground shopping area to have a look around, especially in the bookstore. Then, we came back up, and I found that there are several restaurants in this bullring. We went around to the back, and there was a pizzeria there. There, I had what must be the most wonderfully delicious pizza ever baked on this planet. Even now, I'm getting goosebumps, just remembering! It became one of the top 3 dining experiences in my life!
We ate here, under the roofed area, right next to the park. Best pizza on Earth!

And here below, is a shot of the top of Campo Pequeno by Ricardo Liberato.

I noticed that you went straight into my city;) my father-in-law works in the glass building that is next to the arena.
ReplyDeleteYes it is true that it is excellent this "pizzaiolo", it is rather the opposite that would be surprising, then the paron is a real Italian, it has another restaurant has pizzas not far from this one.

Wow--that is so cool :) I had pizza several times in Lisbon, at different places. All of them were very good--but the Campo Pequeno bullring restaurant was the best of them all!
ReplyDeleteDear Animan: Since I moved into my apartment I have virtually NOT looked at your blog. I am sorry. Today I did and great I found out you went to Portugal. A beautiful country. I went there during one of Reagan's terms. Cannot remember which one. I loved it. I went with my mother and that trip included a stop at Fatima. Welcome back dear friend. Incidentally I am loving my apartment more and more.
ReplyDeleteHi Tony! I am happy to hear that you are loving your apartment--because I remember that you had problems renting to tenants, and I was concerned about that. I hope that situation is better for you now. So welcome back to my blog!
ReplyDeleteThat's nice that you had a chance to see Portugal. Now it is even more modern and beautiful. I wanted to go to Fatima while I was there, but I didn't have a chance. I need to go back again and see all the things I missed!
Hi the nice guy;)
ReplyDeleteYou are not near to have seen everything ... There are some who take several years to know hardly that the main stuff that make the identity of Portugal ...
Nothing in Lisbon is already hard to know in a short time ...
I spent 20 years knowing nothing but my city ... (Lisbon)
And then I went to live in Paris at my 21 years.
For a while I may not be able to come on the net, and then I have a lot of work right now.
Big tender kiss,

Hello again!
DeleteYou are right--Portugal and its culture is very deep, and the more we learn about it, the more fun things we find. I look forward to going there again soon, and finding more wonderful surprises about the country, the culture and its people!
PIZZA IN PORTUGAL?!!!!!! I guess everything's better there. It's great that you had such a rewarding, relaxing time, but you'll really have to get out more next time. I hear Porto is wonderful, and only the French have discovered it, so even more authentic than cosmopolitan Lisbon
ReplyDeleteYes, there are plenty of interesting cities in Portugal to visit, and plenty of wonderful things to be discovered.
Delete{but fewer pizza joints}
