I am gratified and very happy that so many fans and friends have purchased "Animan's Heracles". Every animator has something to say; but it means nothing unless there is someone willing to watch and listen. I offer my sincerest thanks and gratitude to all of you!
On February 17, 2012, I began this blog. I had no idea if my movies would ever sell or not. I was very uncertain about everything. But when I began selling my works, I noticed that I was receiving e-mails from the same friendly people. Even now, I haven't met any of you formally--but I still feel as if you are all old friends. And you are!
With the release of Heracles, I have been filling the video orders manually. Some of you have had to wait because I was sleeping or at the grocery store. Others of you have been lucky--you sent in your order just as I was at my computer. Because I have been sending the links to you myself, something very wonderful has happened: many of you have sent me e-mail messages. All of them have been positive, kind, and healing. So, I would like to share them with you here.

I'm a longtime supporter (I've purchased all of your movies) but was concerned when the order defaulted to an email address I rarely use and I didn't notice until after I received the confirmation.
I didn't want to add to your problems - especially now that it appears you are being forced to work on a holiday. Hopefully you'll be able to have some fun anyway.

You do so well with ages and body sizes and ethnicities and groups and everything that I thought I should pass on the idea of someone competing for first chair. ReplyDeleteI have always imagined an all-male orchestra playing naked---but I also know that drawing all those characters would be exhausting. Maybe sometime in the future, after I've done a few easy movies, with fewer characters.....

ReplyDeleteI have been having a terrible problem with sending these videos: some people are getting theirs and others aren't, depending on the server they're using. As soon as I find out who didn't get his/her video, I make a special folder and send it to them via Dropbox, but it's a little tedious.

I don't care if we have to swamp this blog with messages---you guys have waited silently long enough!! Just come right out and say it "I didn't get my video yet! Actually Heracles had 12 labours, but I didn't put them in the movie, because they were either connected with flocks of dangerous birds, herds of cattle, herds or horses, all which are time consuming and have nothing to do with man-on-man action---or were about delivering the Amazon Queen's girdle (WTF?) or cleaning out a filthy stable that hadn't been washed down in 30 years! (smelly) Give or take a hideous monster or two.
DeleteIt might have made for a rather strange and unsexy movie, leaving little time for the gods to spend some quality time together....
So I whittled it down to four labours, but they were the sexiest ones! I'm delighted you enjoyed it!

ReplyDeleteSome lucky people got their videos quickly, and other not-so-lucky people had to wait for days. This was due to a number of unexpected and uncontrollable factors which I'll make the subject of my next blog post. But I'm glad you got yours ok!
