Today, Animan is feeling much better, so it's back to work!
My newest film is taking a long time to produce. Why?
1) It's in wide-screen (more space to fill with drawings)
2) Shadows on the characters (it's double the number of drawings)
Here are some screen shots for you to see. Our main character is a silver-haired doctor (again!) who is a big star at the Country Club. The other two guys are Mike (blue shirt) and Spencer (red shirt).
Animan wants to make this film as beautiful as possible. So, I'm working super hard !

Back when I was making Nooky Man, I created an original character with a shaved head. I included him again in my "All Stars" video as, "the Barbecue Guy".
I was amazed the other day, when I received a message from a fellow who said that he looks like this character. He sent me his photo, and yes he does, except he has no beard! He will be doing the voice for Spencer in the Country Club video.
Right now, this Barbecue Dude is living in Alaska and will be moving to Colorado in May of this year. If you'd like to contact him, just send your data to Animan at this blog, and I'll make sure he gets it. Your privacy will be respected, and your data will remain secret.

Glad to hear you're feeling better and fit to work again, but please don't push yourself to hard just to get this out a few days sooner. Every artist knows a masterpiece cannot be rushed, and all the extra detail you're putting into this one makes it certain to be such a work! I don't mean to degrade your earlier work, I still enjoy that as well, but you can clearly tell just by the finer lines, enhanced details, voices, and added fun scenes that aren't just screwing, etc. which order the vids were produced. It's almost like chronicling your work for the future to study. Surely with your fun style and cliche-defying format you could inspire others, I could only hope.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of details, the extra shading might make the wait worth it, because that overall appearance makes this new silver-haired doctor glisten such that every inch of his hairy body looks inviting. If only I were even just a pool boy at that club! ;)

DeleteI got sick recently as well, so I understand exactly what you mean. The thrill of art just doesn't work when you're sick and your head is swimming and you feel awful.

DeleteI'm doing fine, but I still have no sense of smell or taste, and that's boring.
This will be my first wide-screen video since "Sex Ed"--so I'm very excited about it. The technique of adding shadows is difficult because I'm not accustomed to it. When the video is finished, I'll be an expert!

DeleteHi Animan, it's good to hear you are on the mend, I had influenza over Christmas and New Year, so I know what you're going through. Thanks for sorting out my purchases, and for moving in the right direction with this new character, silver or white hair is my big turn on. I secretly hoped that in Carmen the whiskered chap who caught Don Jose being fucked by Carmen might get involved too, but then when you've been into older guys for over 40 years they need to get older. Keep up the wonderful work and let me know when you start the Christmas project, I'd like to be the first to buy it.

ReplyDeleteWhen the All-Stars video reached completion, it triggered the inspiration for our silver-haired doctor. He's a brand new member of the Animan stable--he's our first bi-sexual character. Of course, we'll be focusing in on his activities with the boys....

DeleteIt'll be quite a while before Animan attempts another "All-Star" video--which, by the way, is the Disney equivalent of making a movie starring Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Pluto, Peter Pan, Pinocchio, Prince Phillip, and King Stefan all in one film. A big job for 300 artists; a monumental task for one. Still, your request has been heard by Animan!
I'm sorry I'm just now wishing a rapid lasting recovery! I get the flu shot every year (bad lungs) and luckily all I've dealt with lately has been minor URIs. Allergies have been my worry this spring.
