Whenever an Animan video goes on sale, Animan always receives 2 or 3 e-mails like this one:
"HI I'm having trouble with the video it downloads but when I play it it's only the first couple of minutes then stops . Thank You" (This was for a WMV file).
So I write back, "I think your computer is timing out before the download is finished--try Googling and see if you can find the solution."
Since I've never had this problem, I don't know what to answer. If any of Animan's pals out there have some good computer advice for this problem, please send it here, and Animan will make sure it gets posted! THANKS, GUYS!!!
I have no idea what that could be, as it's never happened to me.
ReplyDeleteYou should have asked him what program he's using to view it, and if he tried downloading it a second time. Sometimes downloading something again can fix things if it didn't download correctly the first time.
Thanks, BishyT--you've started the ball rolling. Every piece of advice helps!
DeleteVery strange, indeed. I know that I've had AVI videos do this when a website severs its connection to me halfway through a download. My computer would see the video correctly and play it, but since the rest of the info was missing, it would stop prematurely.
ReplyDeleteYou could try taking a look at the file's properties and see how big it is in bytes and ask them to verify if their file is the same size. If not, then his download likely cut out early.
