DeleteThe video looks good specially for the two main characters (the hot bottoms) but for some reason it doesn't convenced me yet, one is that the tops looks bulky, little bit more hot than the bottoms and that is distraction to me and I kinda missed the old tops with a weak and tiny appearance like in the spanish teacher (btw I miss the spanish teacher too) because in some ways I'm top and you know,the main focus of a top is the big ass and the hot appearance of the bottom like the old animan videos where the hot guys were the bottoms and second, I think the the other reason its because that tiny and weak appearance kinda reminds me of myself too so thats why I can't decided but you really did a great job.

Your videos are fantastic. And in all honesty I credit you with helping me realize who I am. When I was younger and when I felt like I was straight I was looking around the internet and found "Coach Ben". That video made me realize I like men.
I realized that I had been suppressing any gay thoughts I had as I am a very insecure person. But the way you animate the men, your style, the way you draw their features, the way you draw two men together, it was just too much for me to suppress. I was in awe at how spectacular this looked, I was so intrigued.
That opened a whole gate I never thought existed. Suddenly there was a new world of beauty I had been suppressing. Your videos showed me how much I like men, and since then, that love has only grown as I have finally released all that I have held back

Suppressing ourselves is never good. I myself did that for a long time, because of a family member’s weird religious views. One day, I decided to rejoice in who I am; I put down the burden of shame and guilt and suddenly everything fell into place! I had to stop communicating with the family member—he had become so mean-spirited that I had to separate myself. In a way, it forced me to take a positive stance about being gay, so for that, I will always be grateful.

I'll probably leave a more character driven "review" in the future but I felt the need to give you some positivity with how negative the comments are here. I thought this was near perfect and felt very classic Animan. Definitely had enough small tops on big bottoms and the women were very reminiscent of classic Animan movies, plus nice to see again. Personally enjoy the women in the crowds because it's hot imagining they could be wives/girlfriends shocked or enjoying their men get it on with other men. And the comments complaining are kind of silly because it's not like they're the focus or flashing their coochies at us. Anyways loved the movie great job Animan, definitely worth the money!
ReplyDeleteIt’s the way of the world—creating or doing anything is a surefire way to either open yourself to praise or complaint. Over the years, I have changed my ways of doing things, and what things I put in my movies. I wonder if anyone has noticed that most of the time, I end up getting heavily influenced by the comments I receive. If someone complains that women appeared in my latest movie, then there’s a good chance we won’t see any more women for a while. Or if I have made the tops too small and weak, then expect to see a large top suddenly appear in the next movie. And the interesting thing is that when I try to “balance” things out based on the comments I receive—those new changes often up a whole new can of worms! I could very well say, “What’s the use of trying? I give up!” But then I’d have to figure out if letting the complainers get to me would be worth throwing away the entire premise of Animan. It would not. So I intend to keep making my movies, always to meet criticism (so what?) and always to keep trying to make a movie that I feel is worthy of what I want to do.

ReplyDeleteI’ve been watching DD5 for abou a month now. As a hardcore fan of Animan Studios, I always watch the cartoons repeatedly as a way to try taking in every single detail. I love you, I love your spirit and I love how you are able to put it in each one of your productions. ‘Beach Dudes’ is your best to date technically speaking. It’s top quality! I paid attention to everything I’ve learned by reading your blog (i.e. the colored contours, etc) and I have a different level of appreciation now - man, you really have taught us something about animation and how the details make one better and more special even if laborious. It paid off because DD5 animation has no defects: it flows so smoothly on screen. Nothing looks weird. The speed of the asses going up and down looks like real porn. Even the look of body hair is beter in this one. It doesn’t look anything like copy+paste work or pattern. It’s like you drew each and every one of those strings of hair (it’s impressive especially when it comes to Rick’s scrotum). I appreciate that so much.
I was amused by the buttslapping contagion. The diversity among the men involved was simply awesome. I must say that the buttslapping on the main daddies could have happened before removing the thongs. You’d have something more to play with once the thongs came off and Buck and Ken could have made more nasty and scornful remarks. Although not unseen in your cartoons, it’s a rare sight to see a main bottom daddy being versatile. It was nice to watch Mick fucking Rick. Seeing their eyes would have been great.

One question: where was the guy with the blue speedo that was in the poster art for this release? I paid close attention and was not able to find him. I know he’s more like an extra but I loved his facial expression in the poster. He looked insolent and yet charming.
Wow, you mentioned all the different characters doing all those actions—I’m going to have to go back and watch the video and see exactly which ones they were, since I tend to forget a lot of what I’ve done, once it’s finished. It has to be that way, so I can always start fresh.
DeleteWhen I make posters for my videos, it can be difficult. I want to show enough to get people interested, but I don’t want to give everything away. I don’t like to show the scenes or characters who will appear in the video, because 1) I want to reveal all that gradually, and 2) if I show a character doing a certain act in the poster, but he doesn’t do it in the movie, then I’m sure to hear about it from disgruntled fans! So in the poster for DD5, I showed the first 4 characters in the foreground, but the guys with the girls under the umbrellas don’t appear in the video—instead, they’re showing what sort of situation there is going to be. Whatever pluses or minuses the poster may have to it, I try to execute it in the way I would want it to be, if I were the viewer, and not the filmmaker. ReplyDeleteI’ve read some of the criticism about DD5 and I share my 2 cents:
- women in Animan cartoons is not a problem. If some guys can’t take it, they should keep it to themselves. Women in Animan cartoons is nothing new and a woman in the frame won’t ever be a problem to any guy into homosexual acts. So don’t listen to them, Animan.
- the complaint about cock sizes in relation to sexual roles is annoying. Diversity rules and every man has the right to like what he likes regardless of his cocksize or body shape. So stipulating that small guys get to top, or that big daddies should have tiny peckers is the “homework” of a real boring and annoying guy. Don’t listen to that nonsense, Animan.
- Everybody has a completely different mindset as to what turns them on so I feel that I shouldn’t criticize what some people seek in your videos. However, demanding that you once again put specific things - that have already been shown in previous Animan cartoons - in each and every cartoon is annoying as hell. Why don’t those guys go back to watching whatever movies they enjoyed the most? Let Animan cartoons bring new stuff and stop annoying the artist creating them.
I would like to make some extra observations: in my opinion, erections shouldn’t be there from the go and I’m talking about Buck and Ken. Perhaps bouncing bulges would have been more enticing and you’d have had something to play around like animating bouncing bulges to full boners. Putting them there sporting boners is a way to take away the surprise and almost make them the main “object” of interest. Just like Gene seemed to take away the attention from Fabiano, I feel that Buck and Ken almost took central roles. I wish they had stayed longer, cheering and egging others on to fuck the daddies, but then they would have really taken over the cartoon. I saw that one of your viewers commented he liked the boners in the speedos and those were nice cocks indeed (especially when exposed!), so perhaps my opinion shouldn’t be taken in consideration. But think about how the moment of revelation is always expected in porn.
I also feel the dialogue was a bit overwhelming because it was too descriptive. I love me some good dirty talking and I appreciate the 70s slang but at some point it all felt a bit too much. I dunno if it was the way that one of the voice actors delivered lines or what, but it just felt silly. In films most of the time we better see things than hear a description of things. It’d be nice if the daddies were more vocal too. Sometimes you don’t need much information… candid talk is nicer. I’d also have appreciated more talk from experienced nasty men rather than those virgin-with-guys-observations (“oh, I always wanted to fuck a guy”) or closeted men talk. Don’t get me wrong: sometimes it fits, but sometimes it’s repetitive.
When I was about 13, my cousin who was 15 once told me about guys at the beach who would walk around with boners inside their swim trunks, in front of girls. That visual always stuck in my brain, and was one of my favorite sexual fantasies. So that’s why I put it in DD5–and right from the start, to set the tone right away. Other guys might have walked around with shrunken dicks and then gradually get excited—but guys with boners in their pants, parading shamelessly around? I’d love to go to the beach and see THAT.
DeleteI put in the 1950’s—1960’s beatnik slang because there were people at the time who did talk that way. It could sound weird and kind of fakey to everyone else, but that was how it was. These were people who expressed their individuality by that way of talking. Some of that talk survives even now, “like” it”s “cool”, really “crazy.”
If you found some of the other talk repetitive, I agree. It really was. My true feeling is that any talking during sex can be too much—sex can be so overwhelming in itself that it sort of cancels all that stuff out. But total silence can see weird at times. Dialogue during sex seems to affect everyone differently, at least that’s what I can feel from comments I’ve received. (Continued below after your next message below).

ReplyDeleteAt last, in regards to suggestions, what I feel I need to point our is that rather than quantity, people seem to be more invested in your cartoons when you go for character development. Every time I pay close attention to what’s being said here or on any other forum discussing Animan is that people tend to talk a lot about specific characters that had the chance to develop on screen. So people love Freddy because they come to know him during the camp trip; some mention Junior for his attitude (and/or his dad’s Aussie pal friend because of the way he can’t resist the men and also the payback); others mention guys like Dr Lex and son (because, well, you know); and Jimmy from Spanish Lessons because of his “leader of the pack” attiude. There’s talk even about each of the students in Sex Ed because they get a bit of their personalities shown on the screen. So instead of overwhelming yourself with a huge number of characters having man sex on screed, and trust me I love that too, I’d suggest to think about character development. When there’s screen time dedicated to characters, they take on a life of their own to the extent that people even wonder what happened to them once the movie is over. I recently was reading your tumblr and I saw in the Q&A section that a lot guys like the young, horny, and cocky potty-mouthed douchebag kids. Not only people love them because you have crafted them very well, but because they exist! There was an arc that led us all to learn about their personalities. [Speaking of those characters specifically, why don’t you add to your “to consider list” a movie reuniting those bastards? Or even bringing on new ones? The working title for now could even be “Douchies” - LOL. Even if the animation style has changed, I believe everyone would be cool about seeing them again even if slightly drawn differently as long as their personalities remain the same and those sneering lips kept saying nasty debaucheries. I like this classy Animan thing that has been going on in the last flicks, but I miss the cheap and sleazy sex.
Back to DD 5, it is a HUGE a accomplishment, one that deserved every dollar paid for, and you deserve a standing ovation. No easy feat there, man! I can see why it took you so long. I’m glad that I have seen positive feedback on your official website because things were a bit nasty (not in the good sense) on this blog. I’m happy that in the end Animan will do whatever pleases Animan himself. So thank you for not changing your essence. I’m looking for more and please keep on updating your gallery and this blog with some smut every now and then… even if it’s just some hot short story. LOL. That’s a way to make the wait for the next cartoon more bearable.

P.S.- Why have you stopped crediting the voice work? Even though I can recognize some voices from previous animations, it’s nice to see the names on the screen along with character’s names. Please bring it back.
One reason I don’t bring the characters back, is that the voice actors who acted for them cannot be reached anymore. E-mail addresses become useless, and connections are lost.
DeleteI had asked several guys to help me do the voices for DD5. 2 of them had been in my past videos. They were very gung-ho about doing it, but after sending them the script, I never heard back from them. I had no time to try and find others, so I just went ahead and acted everything out myself. That’s why there are no voice credits at the end. I enjoy putting the names of the voice actors at the end of the video, but if it’s just me? Then I don’t.
Something that every animator has always striven to do (but very rarely achieves in reality) is creating and animated a character who seems to exist on his own. This is the Holy Grail of animation, and I have always considered it far above my capabilities. I sometimes seem to be drowning in a sea of drawings, backgrounds, color palettes, and music and voice tracks, so I have trouble being objective about my work. In my whole life, you are the only person who has ever said that my characters “live”. That’s what every animator lives (and dies) for! So thank you for that. It’s a very humbling thing.
I greatly appreciate your astute observations. They will help me to cross the frontier and possible guide my attempt to improve what I do even further. You have my deepest gratitude!

DeleteI never questioned the 70s slang. I believe it was as perfect and accurate as you described. What felt a bit too much was the non-stop descriptive action. Nevertheless, I love dialogues in Animan features but perhaps the key is to concentrate on maximizing impact for what’s truly necessary to be said. In general you always get that right. I’m aware of the trouble you had with voice actors and for that reason I think you should definitely broaden the casting call. Many guys would love to lend their voices (perhaps even I’d do it?). Gotta say that if all the voices in DD5 were done by you then… fuuuuuck. Dude, you ARE good. Definitely fooled me. Only the voice from one of the tops (from the two that came to use the daddies after Buck/Ken were done) sounded like you. The rest of the voices were superb. I also think that if you put out there that you are trying to reconnect with your former voice actors, some of them will get the memo. I find it odd that it they had contributed and just stopped being an Animan fan. Once you go Animan, you’re forever a fan. And believe me: it’s not just me who thinks your characters have a life of their own. I wish you had time to surf around, go to forums, videochats where people talk gay porn… you’d be surprised. I also hope you have focused a lot on the positives that I enlisted. You generally reply to the observations that sound more critical and don’t mention much the good. But I guess you just don’t wanna keep on flatering yourself because you’re very humble. If you ever wanna test a movie before releasing it, I’ll be glad to be your test audience and give you some pointers. Thank you for your kindness in always replying to my looooong messages.

Everyone has different tastes and things they like, and this is true of sex. There’s no way I can be all things to all people, so negative feedback is to be expected. When it gets excessive and feeling toxic, a few nice comments can feel very soothing, and I listen to both types.
DeleteThe people who once did voices for me all started out as volunteers who contacted me first. I took that as a sign that they had the initiative to stick with it. When they really did their absolute best with recording and made sure I got the tracks as soon as possible, it was a joy. Seeing my characters talk with their voices has always been super fun. When one guy did the voice for 3/4 of the movie and then disappeared, I freaked out. I couldn’t sleep. I wasted lots of hours worrying. So I recycled his lines from earlier in the video. This sort of thing happened with the Spanish translations, as well. The translator did a great job on the first 2 videos, and he volunteered to do the third one. Weeks were passing and all my attempts to contact him seemed to be in vain. So, I found another translator who finished just in time for the video release. 3 weeks later, the first guy sent me the translation, when it was way too late.
Whenever I am winding down to the end of producing a video, there are certain fans who write to me every day, asking “when will the video be finished?”, “Can’t you move up the release date?”, “What’s the new movie about?” “What characters will be in it?”, and other such things. This pressure isn’t such a problem, unless the voice or translation people have stopped responding and has seemed to check out of Planet Earth. That’s when it feels like a tug-of-war—that’s when it feels really miserable. Sort of takes all the joy out of creation, doesn’t it? So the voice and translation thing can either be a triumph or the source of all my woes; it seems to depend on who I am interacting with. Just so Animan fans know what’s going on with all this!

Farmer John was originally just a logo on a cottage cheese container, which would probably explain why I haven’t given him a lot of priority (sorry!) It would be a grand world indeed if I could make my movies faster. This week, orders for DD5 have ground to a halt. I wish I DID have the next movie ready to go.

ReplyDeleteHi Adonis, Yes I remember you! Bill was never a big Animan star per se, but I kind of like him! I’m sorry but Twitter or Facebook are not my cup of tea. The Tumblr blog was a problem for me, because I just got swamped with messages as well as chat thingies. They backed up until they were taking a lot of my time. I plan on having this Animan’s World blog forever, so you can write to me here. There had been a glitch with Google, and it screwed up my passwords. Now I’m back and I can get back in here. So please feel free to write!

ReplyDeleteHave not written you in months except at beginning of your latest publication I asked foe link to order latest video. Not sure you know. I bought a bigger apartment. Sold another property and saddest I lost my good friend to cancer in March 2019. Been busy getting everything ready and now I am relaxing and probably thinking of my loss. Phil was very ill at the end. At least he is no longer suffering. Looking forward buying your latest video. Thanks Tonyitalian
