How is it racist? it's a black and white ad and they couldn't print the orange as anything but black. I only wanted to say that I enjoyed the dance clips, anything with Gene Kelly does it for me.
Most of the people who write to me here do so in a manner which is sincere and honest, and I try to answer accordingly. At first I wrote such a response to the anonymous person above, but upon reflection, I removed it. Because the words, "real racist, right?" do not sound honest and sincere--instead, they sound like the sensational crap that trolls write. Go to Pinterest and input "racist commercials" and you'll see a barrage of images from the past with African and Asian faces. Some of them seem to be making fun of the persons race. It's racism. Some of them are drawn in a way that makes the person appear ugly. It's racism. But many of them don't do that. They portray a black man as such. Not racism. They portray Asians with Asian features. Not racism. There's a difference, and labeling EVERYTHING as racism is about as dumb as it gets. Although I don't know why they added this circle-headed character to the Orange Crush commercial, there's nothing wrong with him being there. Maybe it's because there are still people in this world who object to blacks and Asians existing in our world, that they object to them also existing on the printed page. I'm glad you enjoyed the dance clips, aren't they great? And just because a black man (Bill Bojangles Robinson) appeared dancing with Shirley Temple, doesn't make the video racist.
You know that Crush ad is real racist, right?
