When I was in the hospital, my only pleasure was playing with my iPad. During the few times that I could get my wi-fi to work, I was able to find some great pictures.
Here's my favorite. In 1941, Walt Disney and his group of about 20 artists, composers and technicians went to South America to gather material to make the animated films Saludos Amigos and The Three Caballeros. They visited Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Peru.
Disney's visit in Rio de Janeiro Brazil coincided exactly with the Brazilian premiere of Disney's 2 hour color spectacle FANTASIA. I find this theatre billboard for the film absolutely amazing! ("Fantasia will amaze-ya!") The display is truly a work of art and a magnificent example of the Brazilian flair for showmanship.
The next picture suggests that the artists must have given a demonstration of their drawing and cartooning skill for the audience. It may or may not be in the theatre shown above.
This is the third photo of the set, and seems to be a scene in a Brazilian nightclub, and it's possible that the Disney artists were there that night enjoying the show!

Hi Animan. Glad you're up and around and back at the writing board. Are you planning on keeping both this and the Tumblr site updated with information about Hercule, Zeus and company or should I just keep checking this page? Thanks. Been enjoying both but I switched over to your Tumblr page for updates and missed what you posted this week about Fantasia.
ReplyDeleteHi Scot,
DeleteNow that I have 2 blogs, I plan on using this one (Animan's World) for talking about my projects as well as other animation topics. I'll use Tumblr for my more x-rated goodies.
I'm sorry to be late with Hercules news just now. I'm working on the labours of Hercules, which as you know are the opponents he must physically battle. It requires a lot of difficult drawing resulting in very little screen time. Once the labours are complete, the first half will be done. That's when I'll introduce the characters. The 2nd half will go much more smoothly and quickly.
É muito engraçado os dezenhos. Estilo retrospectivo, super fashion.
DeleteO quadro mais dinâmico e o mais encantador do mundo!
DeleteAniman, I read on Blogger a retraction of their new Draconian policy regarding nudity. They are returning to their current policy, so if this is easier for you, you should be able to continue to use it.
ReplyDeleteThat's great news! I've gone ahead and started the Tumblr blog, so I think I should stick with it, regardless. When I'm making a new movie and have to go for weeks without providing any news about it, I know it drives a lot of people up the wall. So I hope to post more "interesting" stuff on my Tumblr blog that might help them get through the waiting easier.
DeleteGood to hear Hercules is coming along fine. About 10 days I had a scary experience. Seating in front of my computer at work, suddenly everything started spinning at 100 miles per hour. It was momentary, but scared the hell out of me. Next day I went to my doctor who said it was a "miscommunication" or a series of mis-communicated info through my ear canals, and my brain could not interpret them. So it went bezerk.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is scary. I suspect that sitting for long hours in front of a computer with all that electricity might cause something like that. The main thing is that you're ok now, and knowing that it was a once-in-a-lifetime happening that's over.
Delete"Funny thing" It happened within 1 hour after I started working. I am constantly talking on the phone, and I must keep myself hydrated. He said if it happens again I may have to see a specialist. He said drink and take 1 81 milligrams baby aspirin a day. I hope it never happens again...
DeleteWhen something like that happens, the best thing you can do is 1) tell your subconscience "I never want to experience that again", and 2) do your best to forget it. Strong emotions of fear and worry are not good--strong negative emotions continued for a long time can cause trouble. Trust your body to be well.
DeleteYou know now that the experience only lasted a moment. That knowledge would give you some peace of mind if it happened again. You have been there and you came back OK. That's a good reason not to worry any more. I'm expecting you to be super-well from now on!
Thank You. What did I deserve to have you as a friend ? I guess the best logical answer would be, being there for each other. And we do not even know each other visually or physically. Clothed, I look different than my nude picture shows. I have never seen you. This really calls for LOL!!
DeleteThat's the miracle of blogs, Tony. People who have never met get to know each other!
