Good news! This morning, I received my 4th payment from Selz and an e-mail explaining the payment schedule. I shall spend today re-setting up The Animan Shop.
So, just WHY did Animan freak out, when it seemed that all was lost? Well, when I was very young, I was living in a foreign country, and had to teach English to keep from starving. It was strictly forbidden by immigration laws to do that. Driven by hunger, I still dared to go to the "English school", run by two Americans, and one of them was a minister! What I didn't know, was that they NEVER paid their teachers.
When they didn't pay me, my friends said, "Oh, they will! Just give them the benefit of the doubt!" So, I kept working. When I finally left them, I had worked several months, and they owed me over $3,000. They did this to other foreign students who were teaching for them, and who didn't dare complain to the authorities. If they did, they'd also be arrested. It was a tough lesson, but I learned it.
When things start to happen in a similar way, a loud alarm goes off in Animan's head, accompanied by a flashing red light. WARNING! Can't help it.
In matters of business, it's always good to watch out for little signs of trouble. That way, they can be dealt with while they're still small.
I have chosen to delete yesterday's DISMAL post. In response to it, I received wonderful, uplifting and loving comments. Although they will not be posted, they will STAY in my e-mail inbox, so that I can go back and read them again and again! Thank you Friends of Animan, for your kind outpouring of understanding!
Wow, that's a massive relief. I guess we all jumped a little too quickly to conclusions, but clearly there is a lesson to be learned here about prompt and clear communication between business and customers. Like I said, this wouldn't be a functional business for long if it was really doing that to its clients. That was a really messed-up and tragic story you have told us and I must sympathize. The fact that a minister had a hand in running such a grift is disgusting, but as a nonbeliever, I hold one's actions to be a true sign of character rather than their belief structure.

ReplyDeleteI must confess I discovered your work ilegally, in one of those sites that let peple watch them for free, but -in my defense- I also have to say that I didn't really think they were contemporary cartoons. At the beginning, I thought they were relics from the 50s and 60s, done anonymously by some genius at one of the big studios, and then forgotten until the arrival of the Internet.
Now, when I want to watch one of your cartoons (last one was Youth Camp) I pay you, I download it, and then I can watch it again and again. And everyone is much happier that way.
Now, as a final request... I love the sex in your movies, but I happen to have an interest in feet and footjobs... would it possible to see a bit of that kind of action in any future movies?

DeleteIn "G.I. Bananas", there was a brief foot-licking scene, which was requested. I imagine that there are many more foot-lovers out there, so Animan will endeavor to put more "foot-fun"into the videos, starting with the next one (now in production!) :D
that's great animan, say would you still be inspired to do that macro inspired story that someone inquired about a while back I think that would be a cool movie and if anyone can do it it can be you. you can create the incredible bulk, lol
ReplyDeleteAniman has received many requests and hopes to get to all of them eventually, including the one you mentioned, "The Incredible Bulk". At the moment, I'm working on another request, which is the "All Star" video-with 10 of Animan's biggest stars getting together for a romp!
