My Shot in the Arm

Last year, a dear friend of Animan sent me a link to this video. I had always known the name Rita Hayworth, and that she was a great film actress in the golden days of Hollywood. What I didn't know is that she was one of the finest dancers ever captured on film. (Just see for yourself!) When Fred Astaire danced with Ginger Rogers, it was magical; but when he dances with Rita Hayworth, it's two great dance masters dancing side by side!
Some video genius has taken clips of her most wonderful dances, and cleverly and masterfully edited them together here so that they fit the Bee Gee's' song "Stayin' Alive"to perfection.
Every time I watch this, my body gives me a charge of adrenalin. The dancing is spectacular in itself; and the visuals match the song perfectly. So it's two types of delicious entertainment at the same time.
Even Animan feels a little blue sometimes, and when he does . . . this video makes him smile again.! =D

  1. You have no idea. I am like...a major Rita Hayworth fan.

I always wish that, as silver screen actresses go, that she'd have had a happier life and didn't need to hide her heritage and such.

    But she was brilliant.

And that music vid was a lot of fun!

    1. A lot of unfortunate Hollywood actors and actresses got typecast into parts that didn't help them grow, and others had amazing abilities which were either over-exploited (such as Rita's dancing) or totally ignored. The important thing is that in spite of all that, their greatness continues to shine, like a dazzling light cutting through the darkness. These people were indeed STARS and it's right up there on the screen!

  2. I ♥ actors from the Glory Days of Hollywood. That was when you genuinely had to sing, dance, and act (tears generated) and were truly called an Actor. Now, all you need is big tits, ass, and a pretty face & you're called an "actor". That's why I ♥ to watch classic movies because the likes of those talents will NEVER be seen again (unfortunately).

Watch Ann Miller "Shake the Blues Away" in this clip:
